Welcome to my space on the web! My name is Liv, and as you can see, I really like Mawile. I like to go outside, mainly to hike, but also to take nice pictures. Oh, and I like to call myself a programmer, I suppose... I think I'm pretty good at getting the computer to do what I want.

Like any good kid, I got my start making stupid websites (like this one!). I'd actually learned a bit of Microsoft BASIC on my own before, but at school, I was introduced to the concept of being able to put your own creations on the internet, which, at the time, mostly meant using iframes to embed a YTMND page into your website. I also learned JavaScript, and (then in its infancy) Node.js.

I ended up contributing to Node.js. I'm pretty sure I've been a member of as many as 5 different teams, from leadership to translation crony. For a bit, I was also on the core team of Jekyll. At some point, I jumped ship over to Rust (before it was cool!!!11), and joined its Community Team. I ended up maintaining and working on Rustlings for good couple of years, as well as running RustBridge. I still have a lot of good memories from hosting these!

As is inevitable, at some point along the way, I got burnt out from maintaining open source software. I had never really made any money off it, and, for both moral and political reasons, started to become disillusioned. Since then, I haven't really done anything significant out in the open, nor do I really plan to. The extent of it has been purely personal projects and websites.

Of those, here are some of the ones I think noteworthy:

• eureka.coffee, a tool to provide collaboration features for Final Fantasy XIV's Eureka areas, with a live version here.
• beacon, a mostly-built-for-myself website to help keep track of the often tedious task of big game fishing in FFXIV. It has a hosted version.

I'm currently working for a small agency that specializes in database technology and offline-resilient web applications.
